They say that necessity is the mother of invention. After a 21 year career in the travel industry, where things were getting a bit sketchy, it was time to move on. And I had the necessity to have a job. Armed with a sense of creativity, a technical aptitude, management experience, a lot of years of not settling for "it can't be done", and the internet taking off, diving into web design seemed a logical step. With the help of a web designer friend, I quickly became enamored with my first home computer and was on my way to learning everything I could. Of course I broke a lot of things along the way. There's something to be said for being self-taught. It's an excellent way to find out how NOT to do things. A computer's registry is not something to experiment with, removing one little comma will break code, sometimes reading instructions really does help, and the list goes on. With the ever-changing internet and technology busting at the seams, the learning process has never stopped. Now if I could just figure out the TV remote. In January 2000, Radar Web Works launched and with many thanks to my customers, has been actively designing and developing websites for the self employed and small business owners ever since. With a drive to make us both succeed, Radar Web Works will help your small business gain a web presence without the high price tag and without sacrificing quality. Visit our client's websites to see examples of websites developed. This isn't just a job to me. It's what I love to do. |
